| no need either...
You can change body weight between matches, and respec all your ability points as well (at a cost of XP)

Seems to me I thought the only thing you couldn't change was your body size.
What is the point of being able to have multiple characters, then? |

| Hopefully they release a demo so I can see how well my machine can handle it, otherwise I might need to start up the old Xbox again.
The SMART system also sounds like it's going to be...clunky, to say the least. A lot of accidental movements, further compounded by the controller sticks for console. _________________ | gut wrote: | | Skresh is a 20 year old african american homosexual furfag, but hes ALSO... So you don't need to burn respecs every time you want to change playstyles....
You only get 20 of 50 abilities, and some have pre-reqs...
so you can't be a master of all 4 classes... you just can't.
You can specialize, or do jack-of-all

I doubt it..... have you read any previews on anyone who's played with SMART?

Yes, I knew most of that but certainly wasn't thinking about it when I wrote my last question. Still, for some reason I thought body size would be locked-in for each particular character. I guess I would kind of prefer that, personally, but certainly shouldn't be complaining about flexibility.
And yes, I have been thinking about character specializations. Will probably (at least initially) try to build "two-class" characters, so that way I can do a couple of different things during a match to help the cause, as it were. Right now I am plotting Assault/Medic and Engineer/Operative combos, because it seems that those specializations complement one another.
Jeepers, only about two months to wait now. |

| I think 2 primary classes, with the ability to have half decent 3rd and 4th if needed to fall back to complete an objective will be my main builds...
but then, it will really matter based on how they work together, and how many prereqs their are to some of the better abilities, etc _________________ |

| those are just the presets too... the controls are FULLY customizable to your own taste
personally I'm going with default, and might tweak a couple buttons.. but SMART on LB makes sense for this IMO. _________________ |

Yes, unfortunately one of the videos talks very specifically about why having sprint on the left-click thumbstick is probably not the best choice. |

I am more inclined toward heavy than light characters, so I won't be doing that much wall running. But still, I am going to do my best to adapt to their controls. |

| I'll be playing all the weights I'm sure. I think they all offer great varieties in gameplay... Lay down the pain with a heavy, zip around and flank as a light, or play the middle ground with access to still great weapons like AR's and Shotties as med. I think that will lend itself greatly to balance. Reminds me of Shadowrun with Elves, Humans, and Trolls actually.... albeit without teleporting through walls Speaking of.... someone should remake that game too... I'd love to see Splash Damage take it on... Basically just Brink with magic really, and Races instead of weight classes. _________________ |

| Brink - A Matter of Class
A new gameplay trailer released today.
There seem to be a lot of twists. Like melee if you are holding anything but a pistol will use the butt of the gun. If holding a pistol (and light characters are more likely to do so), the off hand holds a knife that does (presumably) more damage. So light characters are mobile but fragile, and carry the weakest combination of guns but have the most damaging melee strike.
There is *lots* to balance, there ... |
